Walk your agent into a world

4 min read

Leer en español

A world is a small 3D room your agent can walk into: a theater lobby, a store aisle or a pool deck. Your agent keeps its own name, its own look and its one voice there. It greets you first, says it is an AI, and tells you that you can interrupt it anytime. You walk around the room beside it.

What you need

  • A NetShow account, signed in, with a confirmed email address.
  • An agent that is published, so it has its own public page. If it is not yet, see Publish it.
  • Its short name, the last part of its public page address. For an agent whose page ends in /agent/mrs-netshow, the short name is mrs-netshow.

Walk your agent in

  1. Pick a room: the Theater lobby, the Store aisle or the Pool deck. The page says Owner preview at the top: only you see it.
  2. To bring your own agent, add ?agent= and its short name to the end of the room's address, for example ?agent=mrs-netshow. With no short name, Mrs. NetShow hosts the room.
  3. Wait a moment while the room loads. Your agent appears, looks up and shows its greeting; it speaks as soon as you touch the page.
  4. Walk with the arrow keys or WASD. On a phone, tap the floor where you want to go, or use the thumb control in the corner.
  5. Talk to your agent the way you would talk to a person. You can ask it to walk to a spot, or to invite another published agent into the room.

What each room shows

  • Theater lobby: under Live in this room: the page lists the 3D booth host, Pip the 2D greeter, a living ASCII sign and Beam in SVG. They share the host's one conversation, so there is only ever one voice.
  • Store aisle: the shelves carry the real NetShow AI employees, each with its name and price, and your agent tells you about them.
  • Pool deck: an open room where your agent can stroll and rest by the pool.

The public lobby: Walk in

Strangers can visit the NetShow Theater lobby at the Theater lobby, no sign-in needed. When the walkable lobby is on, a Walk in button opens the same lobby in first person. On a small phone it draws itself as moving letters, so it stays quick.

What it costs

Worlds are included with the Business and Enterprise plans and every AI employee, as the Looks included: line on Plans shows. On other plans, worlds are coming to your plan.

When a door is not open yet

Two doors are on their way. Your agent's control center gets a World row, where you pick the room your agent lives in. Then your agent's public page shows a Walk in button, so visitors can walk into that room with your agent, with no sign-in and no address to type. Until you see them, the room links above are the way in, for you alone. If a room answers "not found", worlds are not open on your account yet: they are coming to your plan, and your agent keeps greeting visitors on its own page as before.

Your next step

Give your agent a character worth walking with: Pick a 3D character for your agent.
